I love this Table Talk game! I am a single mum with one child and this game has changed our mealtimes for the better. We now have constant chat & I have so much more understanding of my little girl. She really likes the yellow cards and I think her vocabulary has improved too. I also bought the Affirmation school cards which are lovely.

We have found that the Happily Held range of simple yet effective resources can be used in a variety of ways to support children. The fostering families I work with have found the positive messages on the temporary tattoos can stay with children all day at school and be in a discreet spot under a sleeve so the child knows the message is there, and the Table Talk game has also been a hit, loads of really good suggestions for conversation starters that everyone can engage in, and can’t help but engage in! We tried it first on our staff team and now we know a lot more about each other!

I love these cards - I’ve used them with my 6 yo granddaughter and they worked really well - a lovely way to connect with her, be curious and have some fun. Its amazing where the conversation can go too! She loved the imagination, mindfulness and empowerment cards. I will use them in my direct work with children too.

Table Talk Cards - deepen family connections

Product Description and Benefits

Do you want to connect more to the children in your family? One of the ways we can connect with children is by showing an interest in them, not by bombarding them with questions but by having a balance in conversation and allowing ourselves to be vulnerable in that process by revealing our own thoughts and encouraging playfulness at the same time. Maybe mealtimes are difficult; lots of arguments in a big family, no conversation in a small family or perhaps a child has just joined your family and an ice breaker is needed.

These 25 Table Talk cards are a fun, non-confrontational way of encouraging children to share thoughts and ideas, together with practising listening and social speaking skills. Take turns to pull a card from a jar, ask the question and hear what everyone has to say. The questions are designed to give insight, prompt discussion, develop vocabulary, mindfulness and imagination and provide opportunities of empowerment, wonderment and joy for everyone taking part! The aim is for you all to feel more connected.

Remember the jar when laying the table or pop it in the car for long journeys.
